Album Chart: ‘Mamma Mia’ claws its way to No. 1
After staking out the upper realms of The Billboard two hundred album chart for five-spot weeks, the “Mamma Mia” soundtrack has finally clawed its way to No. 1.
The ABBA-fortified set sold 130,000 copies during its most recent week in stores, outdistancing Miley Cyrus [ ]‘ “Breakout.” The teen star’s set sold 102,000 copies during its second week out to stay put at No. 2, according to Billboard.com.

Sugarland [ ]’s “Love on the Inside” slips from No. 1 to No. 3 this week on sales of 91,000, while Kid Rock [ ]’s “Rock N Roll Jesus” sold 90,000 copies and holds onto the No. 4 position.
Lil Wayne [ ]’s “Tha Carter III” sold 67,000 copies, and corpse at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Billboard bases its flagship album chart on Nielsen SoundScan retail reports.
Rounding out the Top 10 are Coldplay [ ]’s “”Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends” at No. 6, Lloyd [ ]’s “Lessons in Love” at No. 7, the “Camp Rock” soundtrack at No. 8, Rihanna [ ]’s “Good Girl Gone Bad” at No. 9,” and Heidi Newfield [ ]’s “What Am I Waiting For” at No. 10.
