Leona Lewis ‘Charging 1 Million Pound Appearance Fee’

Published by admin at 4:02 pm under Music news

Leona Lewis, who won the reality television show X-Factor, is reported to be charging a £1million appearance fee.

The singer’s profile has rocketed since the release of her debut album, ‘Spirit’, which topped the charts in both America and the United Kingdom earlier this year.

The fee, reported in today’s Mirror newspaper,  puts Lewis alongside former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney as one of the most anticipated acts in music.

"Leona is one of the most sought after stars around. She has little say in the fee charged - big money sponsors literally name their fee and her management respond accordingly,” a source told the newspaper.

It’s understood that the singer donates much of her fee to charity, including the Teenage Cancer Trust.

As previously reported on Gigwise, Lewis will perform on behalf of Nelson Mandela in London’s Hyde Park next week.

The former X-Factor winner will be joined by Razorlight, Amy Winehouse and Annie Lennox for the concert on June 27th.
